Phonics classes

Mum signed me up for phonics class and I realized that it's quite fun.
My class is conducted at Kent ridge tuition centre using the read in a week program. Though I didn't quite read in a week, I did improve on my sounds and learnt more about blending sounds. I hope to pick up reading so that I can read on my own!

Big 4!

I am now officially 4 years old.
Mummy decided to stop Me from bottle feeds. I tried drinking formula from cup but it's just not the same.
Now, I have graduated to drinking fresh milk!
Still adjusting though... It's tough... Trust me it's really not easy!
But I can do it!

Birthday celebration in school

Celebrated my 4th bday in Skmcc. It was fun!
My friends and teachers sang me a birthday song. I cut the cake for them. Daddy bought me a sesame street cake cos I don't really want to cut up my fave character Buzz Lightyear in school.
Daddy specially took leave to spend the day with me! I'm so so happy! Oh! Did I mention a trip to jurong birdpark after school? It was awesome!

Missing Fernvale

I told mummy that I miss my old house. I miss watching agent oso and disney channel on our tv.
I miss watching all my DVDs but mummy says she packed all of them in the boxes and we can't take them out till we get a place of our own.

I'm so so sad ... but the upside is getting to play with gong gong every night.

Oh yah ... I miss my neighbour jolly too! (of course along with auntie shirley & uncle chee meng!)

I find myself enjoying school more and more these days. It is fun esp going for excursions with my friends and teachers.

I love being a gor gor and I think I'm a pretty good one! I help mum get the stuff so that she can change her diapers and I also sing her songs. Mum also thinks that I'm a pretty good gor gor too.

It's been a month since I'm a big brother. I love my little sister very much. I try to share my stuff with her too. One thing I don't need sharing is mummy's breastmilk. I think it's disgusting. I tried to try but I can't bring myself to swallow. Mummy says that if she runs out of money, I'll have to drink breastmilk like Emma. Gosh, I pray that Papa God will bless my parents so that I won't ever need to share mei mei's milk!!

Mummy, daddy and me stayed over at the hospital to keep Emma company on her first day in the world. Yup! I am officially a gor gor!!!

This is so exciting! I am going to be a real good brother! She gave me a present.. It's a Thomas train collectible box. I wanted to get her a present too but mum was caught by this early present that we haven't got around to it yet.

After more than a year of playgroup, mummy and popo finally relieved that I stopped complaining about going to school. Mummy is secretly hoping that it will be the same when it's time for me to go to big boy kindergarten next year.

I told mummy that she can leave mei mei to me too. I believe i can manage her in class so that she can start to learn too. Mum don't seem to believe me though. :(

I am looking forward to my mei mei's arrival as there will be someone to play with me. Mummy says I need to give her some time before she can play with me. I can't wait!

Auntie: nate nate, you see this girl (a 2-yr old toddler) pretty or not?
Nate: No, my mei mei more pretty.
Auntie: are you sure? you see this little girl so cute...

A question for mama

Adults don't really have all the answers after my 3 years of experience in the world. I don't claim to be an expert but sometimes mummy can't seem to answer my questions.
You'll see what I mean.

Mama: Nate, you have to be brave when you go to school. When mummy was a child like you, mummy had to go to school too.
Nate: mummy, where's Nate nate when you go school?
Mama: hmmm.. (thinking of the easiest answer for a 3 yr old) you were still in mummy's tummy.
Nate: mummy, you go school pregnant your teacher scold you?
Mama: (in disbelief)can you repeat the question for mummy please?
Nate: your teacher scold you? You go school pregnant..
Mama: erm...

Seriously, don't you think my question made absolute sense??

HK Disneyland

Daddy brought me to HK Disneyland for a short holiday in Sep. It was totally FUNTASTIC!

I managed to take pics with Buzz Lightyear! He's a Super Hero you know? I bought lots of Buzz stuff back too! From the Buzz dining set to the Buzz underwear ... from the Buzz schoolbag to the waterbottle.

Another highlight of the trip was Donald Duck holding MY hand all the way to the pavilion to take pictures. I hugged and kissed Donald too. He was a bit shy when I kissed him I think. He looked like he's gonna faint!

What is Obedience?

Mummy and Daddy have been teaching me what is obedience painstakingly.
Sometimes, it would result in me getting a stroke of the Mr Cane but mummy and daddy would always give me a hig and reassure that they love me no matter what.

Obedience is a tough word. It's difficult to spell, long word to read, and most important of all, this is a noun that requires a whole series of actions invovling consequences. I wish the dictionary can have a clearer definition of this word.

Anyway, to make things simpler, I am going by the 'good boy' definition. I am trying to be a good boy everyday though it is really tough. But I am going to try my best.

Mummy and Daddy are counting on me to be a role model to my mei mei. Btw, I really like to idea of having a mei mei now. I'm just wondering why it's taking so long for her to come out to play with me.

Mei Mei!

Mummy and Daddy came home on Wednesday to tell me that I am going to have a mei mei.
Mummy says that I have to help show mei mei the ropes when she comes out.

I wonder what I should do with the toys that I actually set aside for my di di. Hmmm ....

I must say I am not ecstatic but I guess I'm pretty ok with a mei mei.
(I overheard that mum and dad are both very thrilled with the news.)

Mei Mei or Di Di?

This is the top question that has been put to me for the past one month!

My answer has always been firm. It's always the same. Do I really need to repeat myself all over again?

I am going to have a Di Di! I am so sure of it. In fact, I've prepared some toys which I think Di di will enjoy playing with me. I am going to be a gor gor and I am so going to show di di the ropes of being a real boy like me!

Mummy is going for a scan next week. I think she still doesn't believe me though I told her for the 100th time that it's going to be a boy. Well, adults are sometimes not as full of faith as little children. Nevermind, she will find out.

Mummy said that the baby will come out and play with me in December. I can't wait! So far I could only hug and kiss mummy's tummy and say hello to the baby. I will keep you posted on the scan on the 28th July. Don't you doubt me!

Toy Story 3

Have you watched Toy Story 3?

Mummy and Daddy brought me to Orchard Cineleisure to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D!

I was very excited to get to see Woody. Yes! That's my favourite character from the show.

I sat very still throughout the whole show and watched the whole show in my own seat. Mummy and Daddy were very proud of me!

I have marks below both my eyes. The one below the right eye was self-inflicted as it was so itchy that i couldn't stop myself scratching away. The 2nd one below my left eye was scratched by mummy. It was hurting badly yesterday. Mummy was apologetic but I know she was trying to save me from falling down and hurt me in the process.

Thank you papa God that it is healing well. I pray for 100% healing!

Daddy recently shifted his computer into the bedroom to make room for my coming SPORTS CAR Bed.

The whole room's configuration changed and mummy thinks that the room is getting way too crowded.

Here's a picture of me working hard at the computer with Daddy. We have our own computer workstations and terminals. Cool ah? I followed everything Daddy did when he's working at the computer but I seriously think that my computer is way better than Dad's cos I have cool music like 'Old MacDonalds' at the click of a button. Please don't tell Daddy in case he wanna swap!

My Sports Car bed

Mummy and Daddy finally ordered the sports car bed I've always wanted.

While shopping for my bed, they decided to buy a brand new sofa for the house as well.

The total damage was $1200 plus daddy losing his Samsung Omnia during the furniture shopping. Daddy was very sad and I had to comfort him that it's okay.

Well, see my Sports car bed picture! I can't wait for it to come! Mummy arranged for the bed to come on 9 April. Will show you the real thing when it comes!

Bear and Chicken get ready for School

Mummy and daddy brought me to watch this show. The story was about a bear and a chicken getting ready to go to school but later decided that school is so frightening that they wanted to run away from home to the CIRCUS. It was a funny show and I really liked it alot. I wish I could watch it again and again! In the end, they both decided that they need to go to school to learn lots of basic skills before they can go off to the circus to be what they want to be.

Do try to catch it if you can! I am going to be a brave boy when I go to school next term! (I'll try!)

I just came back from watching this play "If you give a mouse a cookie".
The play was so funny! I really enjoyed watching it.
I learnt that sometimes we have to say NO when we really need to. (Especially useful when mum experiments some new recipes maybe?)
I sat still and captivated by the colourful costumes and props (especially the larger than life cookie!).
After the play ended, I was sad that it ended so soon. Mummy bought a pack of 5 cookies at $3 from the theatre. It looks like the same cookie the mouse had! It's yummy! Now I need my glass of milk ...

Hope you'll get to catch it! The run ends 19th March (i think). Mummy bought the tickets from SISTIC online. Go check it out!

Visit to my nursery school

Mummy and Daddy took some time off work to sign me up for my Nursery school in 2011.
I'm signed up for SKMCC Nursery for next year!
Mummy and Daddy brought me around the place. They showed me around the place a bit. They also said that I will most likely be taking a school bus to go to school next year! Cool! I am waiting to take a big boy bus!

For now, I will try my best to bear with my playschool till the end of the year.

Gymnastics Trial

Mummy had a secret childhood dream of being a gymnast. I heard from popo and gong gong that she was pretty good when she was young.

Mummy recently thought that I could have inherited some of this talent (partly observed through my self-taught somersaults & tumbling) and searched for a gym for me to try out. She managed to find a gym that takes children my age for exposure on gym stuff.

I tried out the trampouline, rings, bars and balance beam. I found out that I might have something in me! The trainers were surprised I could follow the instructions and I think I did pretty well for a first timer!

Mummy thinks I am quite a daredevil. I was comfortable with the rings and even when the trainers turned me upside down, I was totally cool about it! The trampouline took a little while to get a hang of. But I am proud to say that I managed to get a hang of things after a while. When you jump, you must swing your hands too! Drawing circles with the hands helped alot!

Mummy signed me up for 1 term to see how things go. The gym school is pretty far at East Coast Park. In case you are interested, let me know so we can jump around together!

Let me just round up what I've been up to this new year.

1) school reopening: i'm still a little whiny when it's time to go to school. I promise I'll do better each week!
2) Jurong Bird Park: had a great time there with mummy and daddy! The bird show was awesome!!
3) Dinosaur exhibition: mummy and daddy said it's lame but it's pretty scary to me. good thing daddy carried me, i wouldn't want to dinosaur to catch me!

I promise to post pictures when mum's card reader decides to work again. Till then ...

Jiu Jiu and the kangaroos

Mummy said that Jiu Jiu will be flying back to Australia to play with the kangaroos.
I kept asking Jiu Jiu if there's dinosaurs over there. He said NO. Isn't that so sad?

We had a marvellous dinner at Shang's The Line. I lost count of the number of times i went through the food counters. There's just so so much variety! Everyone was stuffed!

I sent Jiu Jiu off from terminal 3. I shouted Jiu Jiu so loudly through the glass doors but he didn't hear me. Mummy teased me when she saw me pouting as Jiu Jiu went through the immigration counter. I gave Jiu Jiu a call and he promised to 'come back soon'. I wonder when would that be?

Jesus was born a little baby just like me too! He gave all of us a wonderful present. I love presents! I am going to worship God in church and thank Him for all the wonderful presents I have been given.

Buangkok Cell Retreat

Daddy drove us up Malacca at night with some of our cell group people.
It was a fun drive though I dozed off towards the last bit of the ride.
As I managed to charge my batt on the ride there, I went out for supper and stayed up till 2am! Amazing huh?

The next day was just as fun! We had a whole big room to ourselves for cell worship. It was so formal and elaborate that all of us couldn't help laughing.
We did many things together as a cell on the trip. I played alot with Matthew kor kor too! Super FUN!

The ride back was smooth. I slept quite a bit too! Wished it was longer! I only had the chance to swim once! I think we're planning for another one if I'm not wrong. Fingers crossed!

Weaned off the pacifier!

It all started out on a Thursday evening 3 dec 2009.

Mummy saw that my set of teeth were growing unevenly and made a comment to my daddy. Mummy and daddy contributed it to my use of a pacifier. After overhearing that, I responded to them that 'I dun want chu chu (pacifier)'. Mummy and daddy were surprised by what i said (i think).

The next few days were a little tough but thank Papa God that I didn't have to go through much of the withdrawal symptoms as I (along with mummy & daddy) thought I might. Sometimes I do forget that I don't need the paci anymore and asked for it but mummy and daddy will remind me gently and that settles it.

Now my pet phrase when i ask for my milk is "don't give me chu chu ok? I want milk milk."

It's been one week now. I am totally free of pacifiers so far and I believe I don't need it anymore. Aren't you proud of me?

My Holiday Activities

Mummy and Daddy took time to plan some holiday activities for me.

Here are some of the happenings so far!

ZOO: I went with daddy, dada, ah ne and gu gu to the zoo. I got to feed the elephant! Cool right? Unfortunately daddy didn't take any proper shots for me to show you here.

Polliwogs: It costs $16 for unlimited number of hours on a weekday. I went on a Wednesday and spent a whole 3 hours there! It was really fun and I am running around full speed. I was initially afraid of crawling through the rope tunnel but mummy encouraged me along and I managed to do it not once but 3 times! Daddy agreed it was fun. Looks like there's a possibility of me going back there again!

Foto Gallery: Took a whole series of photos! Guess what's the cue word in the studio? CHOCOLATE (not Cheese)! Will try to upload a couple of shots here soon.

Gallery Hotel: Spent a lot of time with daddy there! Went swimming and had bubble baths. Shiok!

Nate's phrase

Recently, I've picked up a number of phrases and words that came in very useful.
Let me share some with you!

1) "I don't know" : used whenever mummy asked for the impossible/same thing the 101th time. e.g nathan, did you see my specs? (just say i don't know whether you know or not)

2) "这是什么？ " (what's this?): used whenever i see something new/whenever i want to exasperate mummy by asking it 101 times.
e.g. (point to every single thing on the table and asking zhe shi shen me)

3) "because": use this with every "why" question asked even if you can't find a reason. Reason? Because it's just because!

Ok, that's all from me for now. Learning is so much fun!

Daddy finished his exams last Sunday and just received his results today.
I am so proud of daddy cos he cleared his exams and this means he completed his Masters programme! It also means that he will have more time to play with me from now!
Daddy promised to bring me to many places and do lots of stuff. It'll be so FUN!

Brave boy now

I have officially stopped my crying and started looking forward to going to school this week. This is the 2nd last week of school. So it's still not too late right?

My daddy felt that I suddenly grew up and became more like a big boy too.

This week is also daddy's major exams. I believe Daddy will do well! I've been praying for him everyday with mummy. Daddy says that he'll bring me to lots of places and do lots of stuff after he clears his exam. I can't wait!

Animals living in harmony

Animal Resort: Visit the koi and mushroom farms in the vicinity too!
Farmart Centre: A host of farms from kois to quails to visit.
Kids Kampong: I did some longkang fishing there before. Pretty fun!

Polliwogs: Mummy is planning to bring me there during the year end hols!
Peekaboo: I've been there a couple of times. Read my bday entry!
Fidgets: It's at Turf city. Quite a distance for me.

It's coming to the end of the year again! Mummy is looking for enrichment classes for me to join in the December holidays. Looks like it's gonna be a busy holiday for me!

My CV currently stands like this
10 to 12months: attended trials at Gymboree, Tumbletots, JWT kids gym & Growing up Gifted
12 to 17months: attended 3 terms of Growing up Gifted
18 months to present: attending weekly classes at Little Neuro Tree
23months to present: attending playgroup Monday to Friday at Talentplus
24months to present: attending 5 Lapbooking classes at The Tots University

I wonder what's coming up next? I'm thinking cooking lessons ... how's that mum?

Bout of GE

After I came home from school yesterday, I had an awful bout of diarrhea and vomiting.
Mummy had to change clothes every time i threw up on her. Daddy had to change the bedsheets twice in the night. Poor daddy! Auntie Jonina also had to wash up my clothes after i throw up and diarrhea. And there's me! I had to change clothes so many times yesterday that i lost count.

I am feeling very much better now. Thank God for everything! I am able to eat and drink bit by bit. I hope I will get well in time for my new school term at LNT on Thursday!

Today is the day daddy is being commissioned as an officer by the SAF.
I was there to witness it all (though it was tough sitting thru the entire thing!)

Mummy brought me to touch the helicopter's legs. Cool!!! It's the helicopter used to save lives in war.
I am so proud of daddy! I hope to be like him when i grow up. Oh, I almost forgot! It's children's day. Happy Children's day friends!

Here's some pics from my birthday celebration!

This is my Barney cake!
Mummy and daddy brought the cake to cell group and everyone in cell group celebrated with me! Mummy asked me to choose if I wanted the Barney cake for school or cell group. Obviously I would choose the cell group anytime!

This pic with popo and gong gong was taken at Marina Barrage. This is also part of my birthday celebration!
I had fun with my cousins running around the place. We played London Bridge on the barrage but mummy thinks it's a bad idea to sing that the bridge is 'falling' down'. Haha!
The food and service was pretty bad but the good complany makes up for everything!

Part of my birthday present from mummy and daddy is a one night stay at Sentosa. This is daddy and me and the Dolphin lagoon Sentosa. Daddy brought me down to 'sayang' the dolphin. It's really cute you know? I didn't want to come out after that.

My 2nd Birthday!

Hello everyone!

I am officially 2 years old today.
I am able to recite 1 to 10 in English and 1 to 5 in mandarin.
I can jump, run fast (my fave!), climb stairs up and down on my own (with mummy heart in her mouth), do picture puzzles, sing a few songs and many many more.
I received many toys this year!
Yi yi gave me Bob the Builder toolkit. It's so cool! It comes with the hat and belt that holds the tools!
My classmate's grandma gave me baby donald duck soft toy. I am looking after the baby you know? I can diaper, feed and bring baby to the potty! Not bad eh?
Popo and gong gong got me Thomas the train set. It comes with tracks and everything. Super duper cool!
Daddy and mummy have not given me my pressie yet. I think they mentioned a bike. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I celebrated my birthday in school. It was fun! We gave out goodie bags to everyone. Yum yum!

Mummy talked to teacher

Mummy said that she spoke to my teacher this morning.

Teacher told my mummy what I've been up to in school.

She said that I've improved quite a lot compared to week 1.

Teacher also added that I've been up to some mischief here and there but teacher said that it's ok cos she knows it's my way of getting the gor gors and jie jies to play with me in school.

For those who are thinking about how I've been doing in school ....

Well, I must say school is still a chore for me. I know i get to play with friends and everything but sometimes it does get kinda boring. BUT ... I am resigning to the fact that this is gonna be part of life for me. What to do?

Mummy ordered a Barney cake from Prima Deli for me to bring to school to celebrate my birthday. I hope it's gonna be fun! I love cakes!!

Over the National Day Holiday, My parents brought me to Malaysia. Here's the bicycle I've been eyeing for the longest time! If you're scratching your head over my birthday present, here's for your reference!

Mummy brought me to Peekaboo at Kallang to celebrate my 2nd birthday with the rest of the Sep babies. It was a blast! Mummy decided ball pool is still the best after a hair-raising experience (for her) of climbing through the endless tunnels with me.

The lady beside me is Auntie Win. She was with my family for 10 months and decided to go home to be with her mother. Thanks Auntie Win Win!

Daddy bought me the authentic Liverpool kids jersey! Daddy says I must wear it everytime Liverpool wins a match!

Green Fingers!

Aunty Shirley (my wonderful neighbour) was doing gardening as usual. I was having lotsa fun running around with Jolly (the doggie who gave me the wettest kiss ever on my birthday last year) along the corridor. Aunty Shirley started to help mummy with her dying cactus. She's a pro! Aunty also introduced to us her plants. The best part was she gave me a mini pot with 2 seeds and allowed me to plant them (with her help of course!). It was really fun! I'm going to snap some pictures for you to see when they started to sprout. (btw, it's pumpkin!)

Jolly was running down to the neighbour living downstairs and I was really worried that she will get lost. I tried calling her back, "Jolly, come" but she simply won't listen. I even tried the method my mummy always use with me! I said "Jolly, come... one, two, three ..." Sigh ... but it doesn't work on her. Mummy and Aunty Shirley were laughing when I said that. I wonder why they were laughing?

4th week at Playgroup

This week marks the 4th week of me starting playgroup.
I am still trying my best to adjust to the place and people. Though I sorta got the hang of things, I still get very worried not seeing mummy or popo with me.

My teachers will help and take turns to carry me. Sometimes I also help teacher with various tasks in school too!

I am still trying hard to adjust. Mummy is working hard to reassure me. She already ordered a birthday cake for me to bring to school to celebrate with friends. I believe it's gonna be lots of fun!

Day 3 at Playgroup

I started attending playgroup this week. So far it has been a roller coaster for me. I really like to play with the gor gors and jie jies but i am really scared because mummy and popo are not around with me. I cried alot these days.

Mummy says that she will not let me go on for another term as I have been getting more playful at LNT. Mummy also thinks that since I will be starting playgroup in August, she will not stress me so much by sending me for extra classes.

I will be starting Talentplus playgroup in August. Mummy has been praying with me every night these days that I will be a brave boy. I am not too sure how things will turn out. I know i will have fun with teacher and my new friends. But it will be without mummy or popo ... so I am also quite worried. Please pray with me ok?

Genkidesuka? (How are you?)

I just started my 2nd term at Little Neuro Tree yesterday evening. It was Japanese class for me.
I was a little disappointed when i went into class to discover that i was the only student in class! I used to have at least 2 other friends with me in class. So I was kinda lonely yesterday in class. Nevertheless, Sensei was really nice and we went about the activities as usual. I was mostly good throughout the class though mummy was upset with me for lying down on the floor during song time. I think Sensei was quite happy with me!

Father's Day

Guess what? Mummy and daddy was so happy that I stayed awake throughtout the service and managed to perform 'One Way Jesus' for Father's day.

Daddy was so proud of me jumping away to the song. I couldn't follow the actions cos they are too complex for kids like me. But my friends and I were real good at jumping up and down.

The church bought special presents for all the daddies. I took the present and handed it to my daddy. Daddy was so happy and proud. I think daddy liked the present alot!

Mummy had to go for dental today and I was placed with popo in Yiyi's house.
Gor gor and Jie Jie went to Zoophonics for class (I can't join them cos the class for my age group was called off) and we played together in the afternoon.

We went swimming and it was really most fun!
Jiejie found a beautiful stone in the pool and both of us were playing with 1 each soon after.
Gorgor could really swim so well! Wish I could swim like him soon!
At the end of the day, all 3 of us were so tired!
Jie jie almost dozed off at the dining table, gorgor was sucking his thumb on the sofa and I went straight to zzzz land in the car!

Escape to Sungei Buloh

Daddy decided to give me more experience of nature and brought me to a trip to Sungei Buloh. The place only charges $1 for adults and 50cents for kids like me!

We went on a guided tour to the mangrove area. We saw some crabs, lizards (not your usual house lizards), butterflies and lots and lots of flowers. The uncle who brought us around said that sometimes crocs also appear but I didn't get to see any. :(

From the reserve, we could actually see JB very clearly. Even Mummy's handphone changed to Malysia's signal! Daddy decided to be adventurous and tried out another trail. It was such a LONG walk! Good thing I have Mummy and Daddy giving me a lift.

It's quite an enriching trip as I got to see more of nature. But it's tiring too! I slept the whole way back ....

Fun at Damai, Sarawak

Daddy and Mummy took me on a holiday to Sarawak. We stayed at Damai Beach resort which is an hours' drive from the airport. We took a taxi there and it costs RM62!

The resort hotel is pretty ok. The staff there seems pretty friendly and all. It's an awfully BIG place. We had to take a shuttle van to our room from the lobby cos it's way up in the hill top!

We didn't get to do much on the first day. We went for a walk around the resort and the sunset was awesome!

The next day was a trip to the Sarawak Cultural Village. We visited the homes of the people living in Sarawak.
I got to dress up as an Ibanese boy. The Ibanese are something like the aborigines of Sarawak. They are very rich in culture!

The rest of the day, we went for a trip to Kuching city. There's not much 'kuchings' in Kuching to my disappointment (but to mummy's relief). We bought some stuff here and there. The specialty there is PEPPER! Not my kinda thing.

We went to see some animals in Matang Wildlife centre and Jong's Crocodile farm. Daddy felt very disappointed by the Matang trip cos there's hardly any animals there. Mummy was tired out by the steps to climb only to see 3 sunbears. (WARNING: Do not visit Matang Wildlife centre unless they make a total revamp! Don't say you didn't receive any warning!) There were so many crocs in the farm that it gets kinda boring after some time. But at least there were more things to see there!

The last day was a trip to the beach! Daddy brought me to the sand to catch hermit crabs. I caught soooo many of them! I brought along my sandcastle tools too but didn't manage to build any. I also played some beach soccer too!

I had a dip in the pool. The pool was pretty awesome. I also made some friends there! Daddy allowed me to be totally submerged in the water! Though i was coughing a bit afterwards, it was fun! Here's a look at the pool I was talking about.

Oh! Did i say that the total airfare for the 3 of us was just $200 including taxes? Not a bad deal yah?

Waiting for the June holidays!

Mummy says that she don't have to go back to school everyday during the June holidays. She said she will be bringing me out more often. Daddy is also planning to take some days off in June to spend time with us too! I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Swine flu (H1N1) alert level won't be raised. If it goes to orange again, Daddy won't be able to take leave.

Here's our plan so far.

June 15 to June 19 : Off to Zoophonics school holiday program! I hope it's fun!
Others: going to yi yi house for swimming, going to safra yishun to swim, birdpark, feeding fish at the pond, meet up some friends ...

gosh, there's just so much to do!

Mummy is secretly planning to sneak in toilet training for me during the June holidays. I am not too sure about that ... hope it includes some special treats!

Learning is FUN!

Mummy bought lots of new learning materials for me recently.

1) Zoophonics: Costs $95. I am only using the flashcards for now. Mummy was proud that I could do the sounds pretty well. My fave is Peewee penguin cos I love walking like Peewee penguin. I do miss going to GUG for zoophonics classes but mummy realised that I am doing much better with zoophonics at home than in GUG. Probably less distractions?

2) Linking Memory: Costs $89. Mummy is getting me familiar with the names of the pictures first. I am clueless what mummy is trying to do actually. But anyway, it's fun! I can name almost half of the cards on my own.

3) Playdoh set: costs $21. This is one of my fave though mummy don't really like it cos I get a little dirty. I also explored the taste of it and mummy wasn't too amused.

Mummy also did her own flashcards and we did matching together for the things around the house. It's really fun running around the house and matching the card to the item.

It's hard to believe learning can be so much fun!

May Day Special!

1st of May was a public holiday so daddy and mummy didn't have to work.
Daddy played soccer with his friends and brought me along to learn a few tips.
It was really awesome stepping on the pitch. I felt like a real sportsman just standing there. Mummy brought along my little football for me to kick around while daddy went on to some serious practice with his friends. Though the weather was really HOT, I really had fun! Loads of it! In fact, I think my footballing skills improved leaps and bounds after today. I watched daddy and the other uncles playing and learnt ball control and how to do throw-ins.
After the morning of exercise and play, I rested comfortably in mummy's arms and slept on the way back home.

I've been practising at home quite alot these days. Watch out BPL, here I come!

My latest craze

Daddy and mummy started bringing me to the pond near the new Anchorvale CC to feed the fish.
It's really fun seeing the fishes jump up to gobble (big fishes) and nibble (the baby fishes) the bread i threw in.

The fishes there seemed hungry as they looked frantic as soon as a piece of bread was thrown in.

If you have time, do drop by the park. It is a huge park. Daddy will do some jogging there while mummy and me will walk around a bit after feeding the fishes. It's quite a gorgeous place with many things to see! If daddy or mummy snaps a pic, I'll get them load it up for you to see!

Hey there!

It took me some time to get down to share my zoo adventure cos the pictures couldn't be uploaded to the comp. It's finally working!!

Actually there's really nothing much about my zoo adventure.
The weather was so so hot! Daddy and mummy had to dress me up in long sleeves and pants because they don't want me to scratch myself. So, it was extra hot for me!

My favourite show was the dog show. The doggies really came up close and personal with me! IT was fun!
I took quite a few pictures at the seal show. The seal could really do so many tricks! I think it's so clever!
I saw many animals that day. My fave is the monkeys swinging from branch to branch.

Daddy and mummy said they'll bring me there again. I sure hope i'll have the chance to go again. Not so hot next time I hope!

When I grow up (Part 2)

This one is me going on my first night call.
As you can see, I am a little unsure here. I heard from daddy that calls are horrid. I sure hope to catch some sleep tonight!

This is me preparing for my next race.
I hope to be a real pro at swimming and maybe swim for my country one day. For now, let me get over the getting wet part first!

Pnuemonia adventure?

On the first day of the term break with mummy, I had a memorable visit to KK Children's Emergency.

Mummy and daddy brought me to KK CE in the middle of the night (4am) when they saw that my breathing was 50 per min and heard weird sounds in my left lung.

Strangely, when i reached there, I was feeling much better already. I started walking around the place and exploring the place. I saw many other kids there and went around saying hello to them. Mummy thinks that since KK is my birthplace, there's probably some therapeutic thing going on while I am there.

The doctor was so surprised that I was so cool. He said that children usually cry alot during the examination. The doctor heard the sounds from my left lung, palpated my abdomen & neck. I was very well behaved you know? Not even a whimper.

When it was time for the neb, I was also very good and sat through it without much fuss.
Daddy said I was superb at the CXR. I thought it was like taking a photo. Too bad the auntie didn't tell me to smile in time for the shot. When I saw the picture, it was just plain black and white. It didn't look like me at all!

I managed to sleep all the way back home. Daddy took childcare leave cos he was too tired after spending the night up looking after me.
Thanks daddy!

When I reached home, i felt so much better that I played and played to make up for lost time.
Mummy was so relieved to see me back to 'normalcy'. Thank you Mummy and Daddy for praying for me. I will be fine cos I know God is very big and He will look after me me me.

Coming to 18 months

Hello there!

I am 17months over now.
Mummy decided that I need to try out some time away from home.
She found me a playgroup near popo house and told popo to sign me up when I turn 18months in april. Honestly, I am not too sure about it myself. But it does looks kinda fun!

Mummy is also planning to take me out of GUG after this term when i start school in april.
I think i will miss it there but it's kinda far to travel so far every saturday morning.

I am so happy that the March holidays are coming soon! Daddy says he'll bring me to the ZOO during the March holidays. He said he took leave already loh! Thanks daddy!

In someone's shoes

Mummy has been teaching me lessons on empathy (think it's her occupational hazard).

She says empathy is something like being in someone else's shoes.
Actually, all I want is to be like daddy. So I am trying out his shoes. When I grow up I want to be like my daddy ...

Daddy caught me using his comp.
I learnt all about the comp from daddy cos he's always sitting in front of the comp at home. Daddy bought himself a new comp. I hope he will share with me!

Older and Wiser!

Dear everyone,

I am growing older, bigger and wiser each day.

I have progressed from walking to walking fast to running now.
I can sing, dance and do actions at the same time.
If you insist, I will get my mummy and daddy to show you a clip one day.

Daddy and mummy tried very hard to sit me down yesterday night to do family devotion.
But as you know, I'm just a little boy. It's really hard for me to sit still for too long. I think the devotion lasted like 5 mins? It was good anyway! My daddy prayed for me and I shouted 'AMEN' to that. I also prayed for mummy and daddy in turn.
My favourite part of the family devotion is saying 'amen'. I hope to learn to pray more as I grow older. There's so many people I need to pray for!

Mummy was so amused in the morning when I quickly took out my 'chu chu' (pacifier) as we approached popo's house. You see, my popo don't agree with using the chu chu when i'm not sleeping. Hence, I thought i'd better take it out before popo sees me with it. Don't you agree that I'm so smart?

Now you know what i mean by 'older and wiser'?

Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Today is day 3 of CNY.

As you've guessed, I was busy visiting relatives, eating goodies (ba kwa) and collecting ang pows. I even managed to catch a movie in between too!

Honestly, I don't really care much about ang pows. Don't know why the aunties keep shuffing them to me. Mummy found an ang pow in the bin while she was clearing things. I wonder how she managed to guess it was me who threw it in.

I will be catching the floats passing by my place on Sunday. It will be so much fun!

I went for my GUG class as usual today.
Teacher Sha said that I was a very helpful boy.
Mummy was beaming with pride when she told daddy about it.
Mummy said that I was the first to respond when teacher started singing 'toys away' and 'clean up time'. Well, i guess someone gotta take the lead right?
Teacher said that I was really good at it and even tried to help clear the heavy basket full of toys!

My new year resolution is to be a good boy to my mummy and daddy.

My latest accomplishments are

1) Nodding my head and really mean it (but still getting the hang of things)
2) Shaking my head and really mean it (and please don't force me if i shake my head)
3) Dancing and turning round and round (usually with Barney songs)
4) Ousting daddy from the king sized bed (haha ... now he gotta sleep on my bed)
5) Saying 'butterfly' and 'flower' though mummy is the only one who can comprehend me

My 2nd Christmas day

I was still oblivious to everything during last Christmas. But this Christmas, I am more 'enlightened' to what's Christmas.

In Sunday school, the teacher told us it's Jesus' birthday. We learnt a birthday song to sing to Jesus a few weeks back. But unfortunately, because daddy wasn't feeling well, we couldn't make it to the Christmas service. I didn't get to sing the birthday song to Jesus. Anyway, Happy Birthday dear Jesus. Thank you for coming to earth to become one of us. You were a baby like me then!

My eyes are ok now but I am having a bit of diarrhea. My appetite is still not good. I could hardly eat anything and if i ate anything, it would be seen in my poop! Esp those carrots!

I received lots and lotsa presents ... thanks to the generosity of everyone!

The new year is coming soon ... hmmm... i must start thinking of new year resolutions now.

Party at GUG

Swollen eyes

I am having a bit of swollen eyes now. My eyes also having lots of discharge coming from dunno where! There's so many possible reasons for this eye problem but i am going to trust GOD to give me complete healing. Meanwhile, i am trying my very best to fight the urge to scratch. My eyes are bleeding a bit cos i scratched it after bathing. I also rubbed my eyes till it's rather red. Many people thought that i've been crying but actually i am still quite chirpy as usual.

In the middle of the night, I have been coughing. I dunno why too ... daddy thinks maybe i'm allergic to something but daddy and mummy haven't figured out what i am allergic to exactly.

Well, I am praying hard for divine healing cos I know Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me!

My 6 days away from home

Just came back from an extended local hotel stay yesterday.

I spent 2 nights at Novotel Clarke Quay. The hotel was pretty nice though from outside it looks rather run down. The people there were very friendly with me and once again i mesmerised the waitresses with my smile. On the 2nd night, I attended a wedding with Mummy and Daddy. I met Daddy's old friends there. I was playing with some kids and running around till I (or should i say mummy) was worn out.

The next 3 nights, i was at Paramount hotel cos Mummy is attending a teacher's training for Sunday School. I get to meet lots of friends there! It was quite fun! Most of my time I get to spend with Daddy as Mummy was busy. Daddy looked after me very well and he got to know my little nuances at the end of the 3 nights. I had lots of fun worshipping God there ... i got to know that i can wave flags to worship. I also can dance and clap to the songs too. Wish I could read the words so that I can sing along too!

Anyway, I am back home now and back to my usual schedule. Tata!! God bless you!

They say that kids nowadays are spoilt ... well... definitely not me!

Watch me doing my own laundry! (btw, i also know how to take out the soap powder for mummy to help me add to the laundry cos i can't reach the soap dispenser yet)

Down but not Out!

I am down with fever again. But no worries! i am down but definitely not out!

This morning, I woke up early and tried to get mummy to wake up to play with me. But she simply won't open her eyes! Guess what I did?

1) tried to pry her eyes open (didn't work)
2) pinched her nose (didn't work)
3) tapped her (didn't work either)
4) called her many many times (nope, didn't work either)
5) tickled mummy (YES! finally it worked)

Haha ... so smart right?

I didn't get to go church cos i have runny nose and coughing as well. So sad ...
I also missed going for class too! Really looking forward to having fun and learning in class.

FEVER!

Mummy woke up in the middle of the night at 2am and found out that i was very warm. She woke Daddy up and they checked my temperature. Indeed i was having a fever. I think my temp was 38.7 degrees celcius. Mummy and daddy quickly brought me to the kitchen and i took the paracetamol. My fever came down in an hour and i was 37.8 at 3am. I couldn't sleep as i was feeling very uncomfortable. Mummy let me watch the 'God loves babies' vid. That's my fave vid! i watched till i doze off again.

In the morning, my temperature went up again as the medicine was wearing off. This time i got smarter. I decided not to take the awful tasting medicine anymore and spat half out. Mummy had to call in her office to take childcare leave. Popo came over my place to check on me and bought my fave soyabean drink. but i was having very poor appetite and only took a bit.

My fever kept going up and down and i was forced to take the awful medication again. Popo and mummy held me down and forcefed me. eeeksss....

On Thursday morning, my temp spiked to 38.8 again at 2am. It's time for the medication again.
I slept better after the medication. When daddy took my temp again at 3am, it was normal again . Mummy took another day of leave to look after me. In the morning, my temp was 37.3 degrees. Mummy fed me the medicine again. I am happy to say that it was the LAST time!

I am feeling much much better now! Thank you for praying for me!

Gabriel gor gor's performance

On Saturday, I went with Mummy to watch Gabriel gorgor dance with his nursery class. The whole performance was wonderful!
Though i was so very tired, i managed to wait after gorgor's item is over before i drifted off for my morning nap.
Gabriel gorgor was fantastic you know? He was in the middle and standing at the last row (cos he's so tall like K2). He danced to the beat (Xiao Xiao Zu Ye Su) and did all the actions so well.
I could see my mummy, popo, yiyi and cheng cheong going crazy supporting him. They were all beaming with pride after the dance. Now, the stress is on Mich jie jie and me. Very soon it's gonna be our turn too.
I wish i have pics to post but they say photography not allowed so i couldnt show you how good Gabriel gorgor was. Maybe next time!

Food strike!

This week, I have officially launched a strike against my popo and mummy.
I have decided to say NO to porridge or anything that's specially prepared for me.

I request that I am treated like an EQUAL ... just like what they are eating!

So far the battle is half won ... popo is melting under my charms and she is giving me other food instead.
Now, it's just mummy to deal with. She told my popo not to feed me till I'm really hungry ...
I've gotta think of a new strategy to deal with that ... Any suggestions??

Daddy fell sick ...

Yesterday, Daddy fell sick.
He was really unwell as I heard him puking in the toilet.
It sounds kinda gross to me but i know he doesn't mean it.
Daddy couldn't play with me cos he was sick. So I was kinda stucked to mummy.
I tried getting daddy to play with me but he was too weak after the multiple trips to the loo.
My daddy so poor thing. I hope he gets well soon so he can play with me again.
I love playing with Daddy cos he can make me laugh till i can hardly breathe...
Get well soon ok daddad?

Loves & Hates

My mummy observed a few things about me recently.

1) I love to cuddle up to mummy, daddy or popo when i want to sleep ... esp i love lying on mummy's tummy to sleep!
2) I love to shake my butt to good music!
3) I love to watch baby adverts and i will clap to great ads!
4) I am growing to love drinking milk and will do the sign language for milk when i want to drink milk.
5) I love to play hide and seek and getting better at hiding everyday!
6) I love to watch mummy and popo scream as i pretend to pull the leaves from popo's plants.
7) Snoozing with daddy (will settle for mummy if daddy not around)

By the way, these are on my HATE LIST!
1) Being belted up in the car seat. (What's wrong with sitting on mummy's lap?)
2) Washing my hair (The water really irritates me!)
3) Daddy forcibly kissing me. (who likes to be forced?)

Bad Hair Day!

This is my dreaded moment ... hair cutting day!

This is the 4th time haircut in my entire life and the time i cried the most.

It was my grandaunt who cut for me... she's a pro you know? But still i couldn't take the itch and the sound ...

The ordeal ...

I was seated nicely on popo's lap and a pretty towel was wrapped around my shoulders. I thought it was pretty cool! The real fright came when grandaunt whipped out her pair of scissors. She went snip snip away while i went 'whah whah' away ... don't understand why popo and mummy put me through this. Popo held me down while mummy took toys to play with me. Can't they understand that i'm not in a mood to play?

Anyway, the hair cut is finally over. Mummy saved me from the torture (finally!) and showered me cos there's bits of hair all around my body. Though i am relieved, i am still cautious... i can feel the next haircut just round the corner! eeks!

Anyway, after the haircut, we had dinner with greatgrandfather. He loves playing with me and making me laugh. We went to the playground after dinner. All the adults (gong gong, po po, jiu gong, jiu po, tai gong, daddy and mummy) hovered around me watching me toddle around the playground. It was fun! Wish I can go over again, minus the haircut of course!

Daddy and Mummy stayed home with me on Children's day as they were not working (it's Hari Raya hol too!).

We had fun as a family together ... basically rotting at home! haha...

We actually planned to go swimming either at Yi yi's house of the new swimming pool at Seng Kang, but in the end, 3 of us couldn't make our way out.

There goes my swimming plan ... maybe weekend daddy says ...
